Current Work

 [ConverZen east]  is a high-performance, multi-tenant, LLM-agnostic chat server I designed to bridge the gap between traditional backend architecture and modern LLMs. Built in Rust on Tokio and Axum, with local models (Candle) for moderation and embeddings, RAG and MCP integration, it runs in production on  [gaylynmorgan.com east] , where it powers the empathetic chatbot Serena. PAO (Personal Agentic Orchestrator) is a local-first Linux agent daemon in Rust that separates LLM reasoning from execution: privilege-separated processes, sandboxed skills and human-approved escalation for root operations.

For  [kochmonster.de east]  I migrated a legacy TYPO3 site to Statamic, built an AI-powered document ingestion pipeline and am integrating a ConverZen chatbot with RAG and MCP.

The Journey

After leading a software firm from 1997 to 2012, I took a multi-year hiatus to circumnavigate the globe by sail. Crossing the Atlantic and Pacific alone requires a level of preparation and problem-solving that I bring to every codebase I touch.

I returned to full-time development in 2018, building Rust-based OS migration tooling for Balena's IoT platform, followed by web projects in Angular and Next.js. Since 2025 I have been focused on Rust and AI: LLM chat systems, agentic tooling and AI-assisted development.
